Inside the Linux boot process

IBM developerWorks has a nice article called Inside the Linux boot process that gives a nice high-level overview of the various stages of booting a Linux kernel from the BIOS to the MBR to GRUB to decompressing and loading the kernel image and initrd filesystem.
