Ubuntu must be getting really popular…

I know that Ubuntu must really be getting popular, because now it is starting to have detractors that are foaming at the mouth bashing it and Mark Shuttleworth and creating lots of interesting conspiracy theories. I reckon it’s a sure sign of popularity when you are on the receiving end of the sort of venom that is usually reserved for Microsoft and Bill Gates.

  1. I think it is a better sign being called evil by others, than trying to be evil, like the not so widespread Evil Entity Linux… (Which is now discontinued.)

  2. It was bound to happen. Ubuntu will prevail though. If the distro is meant to be popular and do good things, then the trustees of the distro will keeping doing their best to make a robust usable distro.

  3. I just took a quick glance at the linked site and all I can say is craazzzzyyyy. Hey It is one things to be constructive while being negative. But berating and cussing and just saying things to make it look like Ubuntu is evil is no way to gain traction for your ideas. Alright Marc, we need to keep fighting the good fight for Ubuntu 😉

  4. Methinks the author might want to switch to decaf and look into upping his dosage of haloperidol. 😉

  5. Being a very recent user of Ubuntu, I can see why it’s so popular. I always thought it was rather complicated using Linux, but Ubuntu has made it fairly easy to get up and running.
