Flashing LED circuit

I’ve been wanting to learn more about electronics for a while. My wife bought me one of those Radio Shack electronic learning lab things as a gift a few months ago and I finally got the chance to try it out. I built the first circuit in the accompanying book, which is a simple circuit with a 555 timer IC that flashes an LED.

Anyone have recommendations for books, web sites, or other resources that are good for learning electronics?

Wow! That looks way cooler than the “200 in 1″ kits I used to play with as a kid. Maybe I should get one of these. :-)

BTW, the tab ordering is messed up on your comment form. The “Enter Code” box leads directly to the submit button if I try to use the tab key.
