Back in town

We got back into town last night. The short story is that the cruise was a bit confining and that the best part of our trip was the 3 days at the end that we spent in Vancouver, British Columbia. It turns out that Canadians don’t have floppy heads likes they show on South Park, but they’re very nice. And the Vancooverites have quite a beautiful city.

More details and photos later, though I don’t know if I will have good pictures of Vancouver since my Canon S40 decided to pretty much die while we were there. The sliding lens cover mechanism fails to engage the switch or sensor that makes the lens come out and turns the camera on. For a while I had it sort of working by applying pressure to the lens cover, but now it quit working entirely. I need to figure out whether this is fixable; otherwise I may be looking at getting a new digital camera…

Some of us Canadians have floppy heads, but we tend to stay out of the cities. Glad you enjoyed Vancouver, it’s a great place to live. I enjoy it almost as much as San Fransico (or anywhere in the valley), we just get a bit more rain … though we prefer to call it west-coast “sun”.

My impression was that Vancouver was much cleaner than San Francisco. I liked Stanley Park, English Beach, and the Granville Food Market. The people were also super friendly.

I could have told you that Canada would be the best part of your trip in the first place. ;-) Next time, just go to Canada and avoid all that cruising around the US bit.
