Sheryl Crow & John Mayer
The concert tonight was great. It’s interesting how songs that I never really got into on an album sound so much better live. John Mayer was scary good on guitar, as usual.

Interesting that you mentioned the issue of compression. I had been thinking last night (and also at a recent Death Cab for Cutie concert) that what I’ve been missing on CDs is the dynamic range that you get at a concert. At least part of that is that we don’t listen to music at home at the same volume as at a concert, but certainly compression narrows the dynamic range as well. Now I kind of want to get that Los Lonely Boys CD…
