If you’re looking for good quality A/V cables at reasonable prices, check out monoPrice.com. I don’t have any affiliate relationship or anything with them – I’m just a happy customer.

A few months ago, I bought a subwoofer and the salesman sold me a $50 AudioQuest silver subwoofer cable. I got swept up in the moment, but later realized that this was probably just high-priced snake oil. After a bit of research, I bought some nice RG-6 RCA cable from monoPrice.com. The cable seems very beefy and yet it was quite inexpensive. I think it was like $10 or something for a premium cable of the length I needed with gold-plated contacts. After I bought that, I returned the $50 AudioQuest silver cable.

A few days ago, I decided to get a DVI to HDMI cable so that I could bring my laptop to the store and try hooking it up to various TVs, to figure out which ones support 1080 scanlines and 1:1 pixel mapping. I saw prices of $50 and $70 and got discouraged, until I checked monoPrice and saw that they had a 10 foot cable for $19. It arrived yesterday and it looks to be very high quality.

I reckon I’m going to be looking at monoPrice first for all of my cable needs.
