Prius: Does it live up to the hype?
Since my car just died on the freeway last night, I’m thinking more about getting a new car for my ~30 minute commute (mostly freeway) to work.
If you have a Prius, do you like it? Does it live up to the hype?
Of course, I don’t want to be smug and smell my own farts.

I have a certain skepticism about a report on energy costs written by people who apparently don’t know how to spell “joule”, even if that is a “non-friendly (to consumers) term”.
Anywho, we’ve been quite happy with our Prius. However, the appeal of the car for us was not just the hybrid engine, but also the other geek appeal items, like the nav system and Bluetooth. At the time, the Prius was pretty much the only non-luxury car that had those options. Today, they are available in almost any car.
Get a diesel, Clean burning bio-diesel fules, much better value for the money and no toxic batteries.
