Finally, got a chance to try this Windows audio player that I had heard some buzz about. It installed smoothly, looked more complicated than I thought it would be (I thought it was just a very bare system tray player, but it is a lot more than that). The main UI is definitely not as slick as [iTunes][] or [Winamp][], but I think what makes this interesting to me is that you can minimize it to the system tray and do quite a bit of operations from there, like playing random songs and you can even configure it to display a balloon tip with the song name when the song changes. Kind of cool.. Still not sure whether this will become my new favorite audio player – I might just end up sticking with [iTunes][] with seems a bit more friendly plus it’s handy for syncing with my [iPod][] anyway.

I just installed the latest version and I’m looking all over it for how to even _get_ the thing to minimize. Could you give me a hint. It’s not in the preferences anywhere obvious.
Actually, I figured it out. The lastest version calles the system tray a “notification area”. Thanks much to Foobar2000 crew for inventing this new word. Cost me 15 minutes of Google to figure it out.
Actually, this is what they call it in Windows XP, try looking at your taskbar settings. Don’t blame Foobar, blame Microsoft.
