Personally, I don’t undertstand the Desktop Search craze. Every OS has your basic search that finds files by name, attributes, etc… As far as crawling the content of every type of document, file, and email, I typically already know what I want (e.g.: where was that email about gSoap I got a few weeks ago). Searching willy-nilly sounds to me like it would be more useful to an intruder on my machine than it would for me. I installed the Google Desktop Search after the craze about that, found it to not be very useful (plus it missed things that I know I had), and uninstalled it. I will probably give this one a spin, but in general, I think Web Search is a lot more useful to me than Desktop Search.
