Simple but useful – microwave plate stacker
For months now, Nicole and I have been annoyed by the fact that we could only fit one plate in our microwave at a time so we are forced to serialize our food heating activities. Our microwave is plenty big enough to fit two plates – what we needed was some sort of stacker so that you can stack one on top of the other. I looked on Amazon.com and found this simple, cheap, effective device:
It folds, although we keep ours in our microwave when not in use. The device actually sits on top of the bottom plate and although, it looks precarious, in practice it is quite stable.
As high-tech as I am, I love gizmos like this. A very simple device but very useful, and I don’t have to worry about software conflicts.
Tried WordComplete
I tried CIC WordComplete 3.1 for Palm OS and wasn’t terribly impressed. I had high hopes that word completion would make using my Palm a more pleasant experience, but I found that this utility did nothing but get in my way. Since I tend to write directly on my screen with the slider closed on my T2, the popups with the word suggestions tend to get triggered by my writing, the software does not detect that I am making strokes rather than tapping. It also seems to get confused sometimes and think that I started a new word even though I didn’t make a space.
I ended up uninstalling it after about 20 minutes.

This guy has a ton of TiVo 1 software that I am anxious to try. Among other things, he has a version of libc that solves the “Illegal Instruction” errors that occur in a number of utilities, because TiVo’s libc is broken.
Craig Leres – libtivohack and assorted TiVo Series 1 downloads
I got quite a few useful utilities from:
