Holy crap – that’s a lot of dependencies and a lot of work just to set it up for a simple tutorial.
When I saw the title, I thought it might be a fun little tutorial to try, but when I saw what was involved…yikes, I don’t have the time to deal with all that.
There’s probably a reason why it’s “uncommon”. Probably because no one has the time and patience to install this beast.
I also got a kick out of this little blurb from http://www.cliki.net/UCW
Unfortunatly every documentation you’ll get is outdated, whether you look into the API, or the movie or even worse the the slides. This pages were not update within 2 years.
Woo hoo! Sign me up!
Ah to bad, ucw is actually quite actively developed upon, and once you get into it, ucw is quite an elegant web development environment. But our time is precious in this day and age.

Ouch. I feel for you. Hopefully they manage to package all that up into something easier to deal with in the future.
Reminds me of getting certain packages to work under Linux back when I used it.
