The battery on our alarm went low a few days ago. The replacement that I ordered from Pacific Battery Systems arrived today. It took all of about 10 seconds to put it in. Which is funny to me, because the manual for the alarm had advised that we call a professional. Apparently they think of consumers as morons.
I had a similar incident with the alarm at my house. I noticed my DSL dropping a lot and remembered that the alarm used the phone line for updates. The alarm didn’t have a DSL filter. The web site said to call a local alarm installer to have one put in. I called up ADT support and they gave me the URL to a web site that sells the filters. I bought it for like $15 and installed it myself in about 10 seconds.
