FitLinxx #1

The next chapter in my fitness saga.

FitLinxx #1

OK, well it’s only the third day of the month, but it’s kind of cool to be on top, even if for such a short time. It’ll be interesting to see if i can maintain it.

Also, I’m not an expert in statistics, but I’m puzzled how one can be ranked #1 and only be in the 94th percentile – shouldn’t #1 be 100th percentile by definition?

Another bike ride, another flat tire

We did an hour ride on the Coyote Creek Trail. Unfortunately, on the way back, I got a flat tire. I somehow messed up my portable pump, but luckily a nice guy stopped at let us use his. I saw some slime bubbling out of the valve and even got a bit on my fingers, but luckily the slime still seemed to do its thing and seal the puncture, as hours after the ride, my tire was still full of air. Cool.

Feral pigs and deer

On Wednesday night at around 10:30 or so, while going for a walk around the neighborhood, we saw 4 feral pigs walk down the sidewalk, right by people’s front doors, into an overgrown field.

We’ve known about them for a while, as there are signs and plenty of evidence of damage to people’s lawns (many people have taken to fencing off their front yards or adding triggered sprinklers to scare them off). This, however, was the first time that we actually saw them. Freaky. We then went on our way and not even 5 minutes later, I happened to look over into an undeveloped area of brush and was startled by a face that was staring at me. This time, it was a deer that checked me out for a few seconds before running off with a cohort into the brush.

Strange that we live in the midst of all this high-tech and yet in our neighborhood, we’ve seen feral pigs, deer, wild turkeys, and skunks. And there are horses and sheep in a fenced-in area not too far away.
