I want to be able to transcribe my riffs and licks so that I can more easily show them to people that I jam with. Vlad and Howie suggested Guitar Pro (wikipedia), which does transcribing and also can play your riffs at various tempos for practicing. I found it at Newegg for $53 (as opposed to $59 for the download from their web site) so I’m going for it.
