I upgraded the BIOS tonight on my Asus S-presso to version 1007.002 (6/29/2005).
- I used the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and HP’s boot files (both of which I found in a post on aaltonen.us) to format my SanDisk Cruzer Mini as a DOS-bootable disk.
- I copied P4P8T-SP-ASUS-1007.ami (unzipped from here) and afudos.exe (from here) to the Cruzer.
- Then I rebooted and pressed F8 while booting to bring up the BIOS boot menu and selected the Cruzer as the boot device.
- When I got to the DOS prompt, I backed up the existing BIOS with
afudos /os-presso.ami
and then flashed the new BIOS withafudos /iP4P8T-~1.AMI
- Voila – that was it!
Hey, just wondering if there was any benefit from upgrading the BIOS at all?
I don’t remember noticing any difference.
Did any one try the 1008 beta BIOS
It’s strange since it’s been in beta state for more then a year now
