Following Scott Yang’s nice post, I am now using a version of WordPress checked out from the Subversion 2.0 branch.
It’s quite nice to be able to update WordPress to the latest version simply by doing:
$ svn up Fetching external item into 'wp-content/plugins/akismet' External at revision 5913. At revision 3749.
