You’ve probably heard the awful words that Ann Coulter used in her new book to slam a group of 9/11 widows. I’m not going to link to any of the articles or give the name of the book, because I hear that the book is doing well enough already and I don’t want to encourage people to put money in this woman’s pockets.
Instead, I thought I’d post this little retrospective of various choice comments she’s made over the years:
The comments that she makes and has been making for years are unsettling, but what’s even more unsettling is that she continues to be popular and sells lots of books.
Ann Coulter owes those twits no apology. About time someone stood up to all this far left liberal @$@$@#. People are sick and tired of this liberal nonsense and I’m glad her book is doing well. I will encourage people to buy it.
Um, is that Mr. Anonymous, Ms. Anonymous, Mrs. Anonymous? Or perhaps Anonymous is your first name. Can I call you Ano for short? Oh, I get it, you’re a coward.
Can I call you left wing loony bitch?
Can we call you left wing loony bitch?
Um, if it makes you happy. Meantime, I’ve already wasted too much time and bandwidth on you.
Real good arguments there. How about a debate with facts which is a point the left has no grasp of.
A debate with facts. OK, I’ll take the bait. You want to start or should I?
Ann Coulter is not insane, but she certainly has a few, ahem, interesting ideas. What you have to understand is that she is in the business of selling things. And to sell things, you need marketing. And often, the best way of making your stuff sell is by whipping up a shit-storm of controversy. Hence, Ann Coulter spouting offensive, controvertial statements. It gets in the news, people start making a fuss, and before you know it, your book is scaling the heights of the bestseller lists (hint: look at who’s #1 in the Amazon top sellers).
Ann Coulter is popular because there are a lot of people who agree with what she says. I don’t happen to be one of them, but I certainly don’t take her ideas for any more than I think they deserve. Both ends of the political spectrum have their extreme. Just look at some of the comments here; Melany is accused of being on the “loony” left, being accused of not arguing with facts, and in the very same sentence that person making an unfounded assertion that all on the “left” have no grasp of the facts. Think of it this way; the minute you begin to believe that you are better than everyone else, simply because of the political views you hold, the minute you become no better than the Nazis, the Communists, and any other of the political extremes who believed they were better than everyone else. And it all boils down to this: the minute you start taking yourself too seriously is the minute other people should stop doing so.
Both the right wing, and the left wing have some pretty stupid ideas. But we’re all struggling for the same ends here, fellas. Peace, democracy, properity, opportunity, you know, American values and such? Why don’t we start on that common ground, and try to keep that in mind when we’re trying to beat the other into submission? Dialogue is good, debate is good, hell, even argument is good, but petty squabbling is just childish. Ah screw it, sod all you right-wing nutters 😉
I have very little patience for Coulter, Hannity, Limbaugh, Garofalo, Franken, and all the other “pundits” on both sides of the fence, who do little more than fling poop at each other. LAME!
Nah, calling her a bitch would be too nice. She’s just an idiot. Maybe not really crazy, but dumb as hell. Or maybe its her fans who’re dumb and she knows it and she goes down to their level to sell them her books.
I wish she’d go away. Even looking at her face brings out the worst in me. I mean, its good she isn’t pretty.
Ann Coulter scares me. She’s the type that would say she thought Hitler was just misunderstood and that slaves were happy to be slaves if the “right” audience was in attendance and there were no cameras.
“If you don’t stand for something…you’ll fall for anything.”
Nice to meet ya Marc!
Smooches!
And as always this five minute hate shows that the proponents of these extreme ad hominem attacks have never actually read Coulter. She has only ever been quoted out of context, and the creator of this blog knows they’re outmatched here and hence there are no link or even quotes from Coulter.
To begin with Coulter was called the worst and most sexist of names long before any of the 9/11 widows stuff or her most recent use of the new “F” word.
“Manon” is it? You’ve obviously don’t know what or who you’re talking about and could never hope to reach Ann Coulter’s intellect or gift with words.
BTW I am not a neo con and despise both parties. I disagree with her then on things like financing Israel indefinately and this war. I disagree with her on those issues-I don’t hate her or call her names.
However much of what she says is rewarding because it brings clarity to issues that so often leftist hysterics keep clouded with confusion and emotion-aka the democratic prevarication she skewers with the brilliance of say Orwell in her books. (Which again no one here has obviously read!)
And unlike the growingly despicable and megalomaniacal Franken (should’ve stuck to Stuart Smalley which was hilarious)she actually makes points and brings up for discussion issues long suppressed by PCness. Franken seems to think its cute and endearing to simply cut off and bully discussion and then bask in his audience’s adoration for being nasty to that totem of evil: republicans.
Clearly, in what’s becoming a more and more 1984 dystopia, discussion of certain issues is not allowed, think Rosie O’Donnel on the view, and thus Ann coulter is just called stupid or a bitch or a crossdresser, etc. BTW the argument ad Hitlerum is getting so tired!!!!!!!!!
Even when the media most recently baited us into hating Coulter with the she called poor John Edwards a faggot story, if you look at it in context, it was actually not gratuitous nastiness, a la Franken. Rather, it showed what should be a valid concern for a free society: The reference to the fact that the politically incorrect such as Washington, Richards or Gibson are being sent to re-education, I mean Rehab camps.
Again Coulter says things people just can’t handle thinking about-so they deal with it by calling her a bitch. It’s almost Freudian and pitifully infantile.
Grow Up! Debate her if you like and falacious sophistry does not a debate make.
chuckle…francesca thinks I want to waste my time and debate coulter. She throws around Freud’s name like she knows what she’s talking about, pointing the finger and calling those in disagreement ‘infantile.’ Sounds like projection to me.
I feel sorry for Coulter on some level:she’s being used. And I’d bet a 1,000 bucks she doesn’t look in the mirror more than she has to because if she did, she’d see what she really is…just a plain, sad and unhappy person.
One doesn’t attempt to reason with a borderline…and anyone in their right mind, knows Coulter isn’t in hers.
She may wake up some day…I rather doubt it, she ‘s supported in her situation, but if she ever hits a bottom, well, let’s hope she has a true friend around.
I wouldn’t want her Karma.
