I’ve been a fan of the jed text editor for a number of years. It’s one of the first programs I install on a new system and that’s why I really wanted to have it on my TiVo.
This version is for the Series 1 (my version for the Series 2 is here.
This version has an installer script of sorts. After ungzipping and untarring, run the install.sh file, which lets you choose where to install things and it recommends defaults that work well. If you change the slang\_dir, then you will need to set the JED\_ROOT environment variable to point to it – that’s why I recommend using the default if you can.
